RCV is a way of voting that allows the voter to rank multiple candidates in order of preference; 1st choice, 2nd choice, 3rd choice… as opposed to our current voting system, where the one with the most votes wins—even if they did not receive a majority of the vote.
Joining us are guests Nathan James Lockwood, and Jim Henderson, representing Voter Choice Massachusetts, a non-partisan, 501c3 non-profit organization; advocating for the adoption of ranked choice voting in Massachusetts.
They state “RCV would make Massachusetts elections more competitive and fair by encouraging the participation of more candidates and parties, and by ensuring outcomes that more accurately reflect the will of the voters.”
